Think of Roulette and you think of glamour, showboats and good times. A Roulette Wheel has a spinning wheel and moves a ball along with it. When the Roulette Wheel stops spinning the ball lands in numbered slot form zero to 36. Place your bets until the Roulette dealer (croupier) shouts out that no more bets are accepted. Europe uses a roulette wheel with one zero, and American roulette wheels have 2 separate slots marked zero.
How to Play Roulette
1) Place your best on the table markings until the croupier yells "no more bets".
2) When the ball drops into a slot, the roulette croupier marks the winning place on the table.
3) The croupier collects the bets to pay the roulette winner.
4) It is part of the roulette stake if the ball drops near your number.
The House Advantage
Roulette gives the casino a house advantage of 2.7% when with single-zero roulette wheels, and a 5.26% when there are two slots for zeros.
'En Prison' rule
When the ball lands on a zero, you can take back half of your bet, or leave it En Prison (in prison) on the roulette table for a second betting round only.
'La Partage' rule
When the ball lands on a zero, you must take back half of your bet.
Roulette payouts
2-number bet 'Split Bet' pays out odds of 17 to 1.
3-number bet 'Street Bet' pays out odds of 11 to 1.
4-number bet Corner Bet pays out odds of 8 to 1.
6-number bet pays out odds of 5 to 1.
Column Bet or Outside Dozen pays out odds of 2 to 1.
Outside Even Money Area pays out odds of 1 to 1.
Straight-Up is when you gamble on one number of the roulette wheel with payout odds of 35 to 1. If there is no House Advantage, the payout for European Roulette is 37 to 1, and the payout for American Roulette is 38 to 1
